Catherine Friend is the award-winning author of sapphic adventure romances, memoirs, nonfiction, and children’s books. She is a six-time Goldie and Minnesota Book Award winner and Lambda Literary Award finalist. She loves slipping women-loving-women into overlooked corners of history—whether through pirates, ghosts, or time travel. After 25 years of farming with her wife (and a menagerie of sheep, llamas, and peacocks), she now lives in a small Minnesota river town with two dogs, writing, teaching, and occasionally reading tarot.
Her novel, The Lost Brontë is a fiesty sapphic gothic novel set in northern England in 1898. It is scheduled for publication in August 2026.
