Sandra Moran was the author of Letters Never Sent, All We Lack, Nudge, and The Addendum, a companion piece to Nudge. Her novel Letters Never Sent was a 2014 finalist for the Edmund White Award for Debut Fiction, and winner of Golden Crown Literary Society (GCLS) awards in the General Fiction and Ann Bannon Popular Choice categories. Nudge, was a nominee for the 2015 Thorpe Menn Literary Excellence Award, and All We Lack was also awarded the GCLS Ann Bannon Popular Choice award in 2016.

In addition to writing, Sandra was assistant adjunct professor of anthropology at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas, and served as an instructor at the Golden Crown Literary Society’s Writing Academy. A native Kansan, she previously worked professionally as a newspaper journalist, a political speech writer, and an archaeological tour manager. In her novels, she created flawed characters struggling to find themselves within the cultural constructs of gender, religion and sexuality.

Revisions on State of Grace, her final novel, were completed in September 2015. Less than a month later, she was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer.

Sandra Moran passed away on November 7, 2015.
